Gah! All five of these were quite powerful and thought-provoking. The thing I really liked is that even though this was a look at five things that hadn't happened to Denethor, you didn't take the usual 'here's the sunny alternative to reality' route. Instead, even the stuff he didn't experience was still painted with a pessimistic (if that's the right word) brush. Which feels very, very in-character for him.
