She'd barely gotten Liam to sleep when Jack and Mr. Gibbs turned up at her door, dragging between them, bound and gagged, a well-dressed lad of perhaps twelve years. "It's just for a few days. Until his father comes to claim him. Now, now, don't look at me like that, Lizzie, the lad was on board the Pearl when I took her back."
"So you're only collecting the ransom from Barbossa's schemes." But then the boy let out an annoyed sigh, and Elizabeth saw the familiar roll of pale-blue eyes and everything fell into place. "Jack! You didn't -- "
