Two MacGyver Drabbles

Remember When?
"Hi, MacGyver! It's Penny! I guess you're not there, otherwise you'd answer the phone. I want you to call me back as soon as you get this message, because I have some absolutely terrific news and I just can't wait to tell you! Well ... I guess I'll just go ahead and tell you now. I got a part in a play! It's only a small part but you know what they say, little parts lead to bigger parts! Anyway, I thought you might want to take me out tonight to celebrate. There's this hot new coffee place, it's called Starbucks ... "
Gift or Guile?
The rectangular package leaned against MacGyver's door. It would have looked innocuous to anyone else. But ever since Murdoc's body hadn't been found again, Mac had been jittery.
Forty-five minutes and three MacGyverisms later, he cautiously approached the package. Eased the wrapper off.
A note fell out, in Jack's scrawl. That actress Penny set me up with gave me this. I guess she thought she could convert me. Maybe you can use it?
Mac let out a deep breath and picked up the vegetarian cookbook. He could almost allow himself to believe that things were getting back to normal.

In Slash-Land We Call That Foreplay ...
Mar. 18th, 2011 03:22 pmI had some crocheting to do, so I decided to watch TV. Not anything that needed much braining to follow, so I decided that what I was in the mood for was 80s TV. How about ... MacGyver? Perfect. Cheesy, yet entertaining.
It was also the first fandom where I was In It For The Slash, so I decided to go through and watch the Murdoc episodes.
I've come to the conclusion that the writers for "Cleo Rocks" were on the Good Drugs, and confirmed that the whole "setting elaborate traps that Mac has to escape from" thing is Murdoc's twisted idea of seduction.
Is this going to be enough to get me writing fic again? Who knows; that's a matter of spoons management. But at least I've had a chance to take a brief stroll down memory lane, and finish the first strip on the stole.
